Vraiment bon ! ~ AnCyWaKer
Amazing food - if there is option to give 10 stars I would have totally done it, but it only limits me at 5 star. Biryani is something which is must try , we hardly find such an authentic biryanis in North America. We came all the Moncton to visit Montreal on road trip , the trip was exhausting however Bawarchis food in downtown took away all our exhaustion and made me and my family Nastolgic reminding us our old college days with Authentic hyderabadi biryanis , kervepaku chiken & cauliflower kervepaku. P.S - Service deserves another 10 stars , owners are very down to earth and accommodating. I thought at first they are just waiters but then realized it’s a family owned business they all are so down to earth. ~ S C
This place is absolutely wonderful. The staff are meticulous and organized, and they can guide you to the options that might suit you, especially if you are new to Indian cuisine. Indian cuisine is rich and diverse with many strong and distinctive flavors in both meat and vegetarian dishes, making it an excellent destination for those following a vegetarian lifestyle. The prices and the quality of the food are encouraging, prompting repeated visits whenever you crave the taste of Indian food in Montreal. The restaurant's location also makes it the preferred choice for family and friends gatherings. I love this place and will certainly continue to visit it regularly🥰😇👌🏽 ~ Amani S
~ Yanggi C
Amazing India food. Especially biryani. I had mirchi biryani, consist of boneless chicken, in favoured rice alone green chilli (mirchi) with garnished with half an bolied egg, slice of lime and red onion. On the side you get gravy and curd (yoghurt) with coriander. - excellent 🍛🍴😘 Choose of drink was masala chai or tea, not take out tea bags rather brewed - great favour! ☕ For dessert I had gulabjamun with ice cream which what I serve then I host Indian dinner however ice cream was of very poor quality, you have fine pellet, you will find ice cream contain lot of water hence ice crystals. Its street parking, not easy to find! mind it - it's Montréal 🤷🏽‍♀️ ~ Madhu M
We enjoyed the food here. Everything was delicious. We ordered: Amaravathi Goat Curry Malai Kofta Tandoori Roti Paneer Kulcha Goat Dum Biryani Butter Naan Fried Roast Mutton The Malai kofta had a creamy and rich curry which I enjoyed a lot. The paneer kulcha was nice as well. Everything ordered was delicious and had a good amount of blended spices that heated your throat and did not overpower whelm your tongue. A welcoming experience as most Indian restaurants here just dose their food with chili. Parking is difficult to find on bishop street but we were lucky to find one available. Service was quick. ~ Mike M
One the of finest Indian restaurants in Montreal. They have a really good ambience and the food tastes amazing. I was surprised to see the variety of appetizers and biryanis they offer. (Both Veg & Non Veg). The Management is very polite and friendly, so as the dining team. Must try: Veg : Gobi/Babycorn Manchurian Gobi/Corn Karvepaku Chilli Paneer Malai Kofta Curry Shahi Paneer Curry Gunter Paneer Biryani ( *spicy* ) Nawabi Veg Biryani Non-Veg : Whole menu ( don’t miss anything 😇 as every item is unique in its own way) Disclaimer: It’s quite crowed in rush hours. Wait time is long, but worth waiting. ~ Shankari P
One of the few good Indian restaurants in Montreal. Small menu that’s why quality has been greatly maintained. I have tried their Nawabi biryani, vijaywada biryani, masakali chicken, bagara baigan, malai kofta and Apollo fish so far. Everything had a unique and very flavourful taste. Prices are bit higher but quantity given is enough for 2 people (especially for biryani). Better to go for dine in rather than ordering online cz last time I order it took really long and they were out of stock for one time. But I understand as it is a busy restaurant. I will definitely be back to try other items on their menu :) ~ Mandy K
This restaurant is my favourite authentic Indian experience in Montreal by far. Personally I have a pretty good spice tolerance, but my friends... not so much, so we were a bit worried when coming here at first. After explaining our situation to the waiter they patiently gave us suggestions to cater to lower spice tolerances, such as their Nawabi Chicken Biryani or Butter Chicken Biryani. These were both delicious, and the rich and flavourful sauces complimented their fragrant naan breads. The service was good, and despite coming at a busy time, the waiters would check in on us as frequently as they could. This restaurant is solid. ~ R L
Its very hard to maintain Consistency for such long time but this restaurant is doing very well . One of the best indian restaurants in Montréal for taste . I am regularly customer and 80% time i got perfect dish but some time something happens they change it happily . Vijaywada birayani is my favourite .. this restaurant is like go to restaurants anytime you can go and eat. quantity against price for biryani is enough. Starter are bit expensive as compared to quantity but they taste good. Overall you will get indian taste and satisfaction about indian food . ~ sagar m
The food at Bawarchi is truly exceptional especially biryanis are so far the bests I’ve had in montreal, and I must commend Sakshi, an outstanding member of the staff, for enhancing my dining experience. With her extensive knowledge of the menu, Sakshi provided excellent recommendations that perfectly complemented the flavors of each dish. Her attentive and friendly service ensured that every aspect of my meal was delightful. The combination of Sakshi's exceptional service and the amazing food at Bawarchi made for an unforgettable dining experience. ~ sagar p
We had the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Nawabi Veg Biryani. We were quite surprised that the chicken dish was so small and that the biryani was so large. However, the chicken dish was quite good and actually quite filling so it was enough, however, the biryani was just huge, I think it's meant to be shared by more than two people. It is a good place to go as a group as you can share a lot of dishes, the ones we had were both very good. And the prices are reasonable as well. ~ Michel C
Never write reviews unless im pleasantly surprised. Went yesterday on their fourth opening day, was highly disapointed by some food i had elsewhere and was hoping to get something to go. Was past 10 and although they already had wrapped up, they packed me up a chicken biryani. And for 17$ approx, i had a great portion and by far the best biryani in mtl. It brought me back to little india in singapore. Well done, keep up the good work, will be comin back often. ~ Phil m
Wow 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 This is my 50th time I was in this restaurant, I feel the same taste as it is my first time, This is the best restaurant in montreal region. Before we use to visit toronto for authentic south Indian food, but now we have Bawarchi, the food was mesmerizing, on weekends they have specials pulao, And the deserts chef (rajeev) special Malpuri starting from starters and till end of deserts you will enjoy the food, I love this guys it’s worth of paying the prices ~ Gopi C
Le personnel a pris le temps de bien nous expliquer et de nous guider sur les plats à prendre surtout au niveau de notre tolérance au piment. Ce qui était très apprécié De plus les plats sont copieux et délicieux . Je recommande fortement ~ Garry R
It was our first time eating Biryani here, recommended by one of my Indian friends from Concordia. Since we didn't have much idea about Biryani, one staff Tanvi helped us figure out the type based on our preferences and frequently checked on us, ensuring we had everything we needed and that everything was to our liking. The food was delicious, and the staffs were very nice and kind. Will definitely visit again with friends. ~ PRADEEP S
This Indian restaurant in Montreal blew me away! The flavors were incredibly authentic, bursting with traditional Indian spices. The staff were incredibly sweet and attentive, making sure everything was perfect. With a wide array of food options, it's a must-visit spot. Just be prepared for it to get busy during peak hours due to its small size. Overall, hands down the best Indian food I've had in Montreal! ~ Dickson P
One of the reasons I visit India is for my biryani cravings, after this gastronomic experience, I can safely say that, my biryani cravings’ destination is changed to Montreal Bawarchi. I was in town on a Saturday to try that divine weekend special biryani, the rice was cooked to the perfect fluffy consistency with balanced spices and at a point thought a soap crisis might be up on the city to wash off all the ghee from my hands. ~ Gokul E
Visited Montreal for the weekend with my friend and Bawarchi was suggested by my cousin to satisfy our crave for Briyani. They didn't disappoint us. Food was yum and customer service was too goood. Our table was serviced by Priya and Shankar. You guys are awesome!!! Keep up the good work. I couldn't take picture of the goood food cause we were all busy eating! Bawarchi will definitely be on our list everytime when we visit Montreal :) cheers ~ Anjana R
Visited this place keeping my expectations to minimal; knowing about the Indian (veg) food history in Montreal. It completely took me by surprise 🫢 We had ordered Karivepaku Gobi - 5/5 Chicken 555 - 4.5/5, Vijayawada Chicken 4.5/5 and Panneer Dum Biryani - 5/5. I relished every bite of Karivepaku Gobi. The spice level was just enough to take you back home. I am going to try something else next time and keep you posted. Until then CIAO! ~ Anusha
I visited bawarchi with my family and we had kids too with us. We always visit Darbar, but we found the food at bawarchi much better. Our server was a sweet bengali girl and she was familiar with our native language and our palate. She went an extra-mile in suggesting us the right options and also explained the chef about our taste. The overall experience was very good. We are definitely coming back. Good food, humble staff, and nice ambience ! ~ kanak p
Authentic Hyderabadi Taste. We ordered mutton boneless biryani and karuvepuku chicken. Both are awesome and freshly made. Biryani is prepared in authentic Hyderabadi style and meat is tender and cooked well. They used gingelly oil in biryani and in compliment gravy. Karuvepuku chicken taste is marvelous and chicken blended with grounded curry leaves and Indian spices. I hope this restaurant will maintain the same quality in future. ~ RK
One of d best, or to be precise d best authentic Indian cuisine u will ever find in Montreal. I tried vijaywada chicken Biryani its absolutely mouthwatering..the quality of rice, level of spices added and d taste of tender chicken makes u feel like ur in India. There customer service is amazing as well. This is not a complaint but a suggestion, please do make sure to pick up the call so that people can order over a phone easily.. ~ SriKrishna P
